St Vincent’s community, Redfern has been celebrating Sharing the Journey since 2002.

Sharing the Journey is a series of reflections, a forum for guests from all walks of life to share a little of their life experience with others. It is normally held after the Sunday 10am Mass.

Originally held on the third Sunday of each month at the 10 am Mass, the guest would speak after the Eucharist or at the end of Mass following a very brief sermon. More recently the Journey has been less regular, and occurs after Mass.

Sister of St Joseph, a Congregation founded by Mary MacKillop. She is well known for her work on behalf of the people of East Timor, and through the Mary McKillop Institute of East Timorese Studies.

Dominican Sisters of Eastern Australia & the Solomon Islands who have been working for some time with the Edmund Rice Centre researching what happens to those who are deported from Australia. Prior to this ministry, Kath was involved in primary education for 20 years. Kath’s activities include Migration Agent, lobbying, advocacy especially for the temporary protection visa holders.

Director of the Edmund Rice Centre. He is also the National President of Australians for Native Title and Reconciliation (ANTaR) and the author of the Australian Citizens Statement that is the basis for ANTaR’s Sea of Hands. With a background in education, Third World development and political science, today he is primarily involved in peace and reconciliation work – especially with youth – in Australia, Northern Ireland, Israel and Palestine, Rwanda and Aboriginal Australia. Previously he was the national adult education and information officer of Caritas Australia.

Renowned speaker and author Fr Tissa Balasuriya OMI, was the keynote speaker for last weekends inaugural Australian Reforming Catholics Conference. Tissa is infamously known for his book, "Mary and Human Liberation" which led to his excommunication in 1997. He has also been active as a founder and director of Centre for Society and Religion in Colombo. Following negotiations with the CDF, his excommunication was rescinded he went on to found EATWOT (Ecumenical Association of Third World Theologians.)
