{"id":401,"date":"2002-12-02T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2002-12-02T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/lanuera.com\/cmwp\/?p=401"},"modified":"2002-12-02T00:00:00","modified_gmt":"2002-12-02T00:00:00","slug":"reflections-on-ted-the-redfern-church","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/church-mouse.net\/?p=401","title":{"rendered":"Reflections on Ted &#038; &#8220;The Redfern Church&#8221;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p align=\"justify\" class=\"MsoBodyText\" style=\"margin: 3pt 0cm;\"><span lang=\"EN-AU\" style=\"\"><span class=\"dropcap\">A<\/span>fter                            several years in the Redfern congregation: I have four                            main impressions:<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n<div align=\"justify\">\n<\/div>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-AU\" style=\"\"><\/span><br \/>\n<!--more--><\/p>\n<div align=\"justify\">\n<ul>\n<li><span lang=\"EN-AU\" style=\"\">The                            atmosphere of acceptance &#8211; acceptance of everyone, and                            an accepting attitude to behaviour that would cause                            indrawn breaths, shocked faces, and swift expulsion                            in most churches.<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div align=\"justify\">                           <\/div>\n<div align=\"justify\">\n<ul>\n<li><span lang=\"EN-AU\" style=\"\">The                            release of the mass to its fundamentals.<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div align=\"justify\">                           <\/div>\n<div align=\"justify\">\n<ul>\n<li><st1:city><st1:place><span lang=\"EN-AU\" style=\"\">Readings<\/span><\/st1:place><\/st1:city><span lang=\"EN-AU\" style=\"\">                            of the Gospels that often turned on their heads the                            interpretations usually mouthed. There was no feeling                            that one could have written it oneself from memory.<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div align=\"justify\">                           <\/div>\n<div align=\"justify\">\n<ul>\n<li><span lang=\"EN-AU\" style=\"\">And                            finally Ted himself. To speak of &ldquo;Ted&rsquo;s ego&rdquo; is an oxymoron.                            Strength and conviction, yes, but for one who has much                            to be proud of, there is no feeling of self-pride.<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div>\n<div align=\"justify\">                          <span lang=\"EN-AU\" style=\"\">Ted,                            we love you.
