{"id":25,"count":3,"description":"St Vincent&rsquo;s community, Redfern has been celebrating Sharing the Journey since 2002.\n\nSharing the Journey is a series of reflections, a forum for guests from all walks of life to share a little of their life experience with others. It is normally held after the Sunday 10am Mass.\n\nOriginally held on the third Sunday of each month at the 10 am Mass, the guest would speak after the Eucharist or at the end of Mass following a very brief sermon. More recently the Journey has been less regular, and occurs after Mass.\n\nSpeakers in previous years included:\n\n2005 Apr 24 <strong>John Hill<\/strong>\n\n     Member of the St Vincent's community, civil\tcelebrant and ex-priest\n\n2005 May 29 <strong>Susan Connelly <\/strong>\n\n     Sister of St Joseph, a Congregation founded by Mary\tMacKillop. She is well known for her work on behalf of the people\tof East Timor, and through the Mary McKillop Institute of East \tTimorese Studies.\n\n2005 Jul 10 <strong>Sr Carmel Leavey, Sr Mary Britt<\/strong>\n\n     Dominican Sisters of Eastern Australia &amp; the Solomon \t\t\tIslands who have been working for some time with the Edmund Rice \t\t\tCentre researching what happens to those who are deported from \t\t\tAustralia. Some horrific facts have come to light. Kath's activities include Migration \t\tAgent, lobbying, advocacy especially for the temporary protection \tvisa holders.\n\n2005 Aug 21 <strong>Phil Glendenning <\/strong>\n\n     Director of the Edmund Rice Centre. He is also the National \t\tPresident of Australians for Native Title and Reconciliation \t\t(ANTaR) and the author of the Australian Citizens Statement that \t\tis the basis for ANTaR's Sea of Hands. With a background in \t\teducation, Third World development and political science, today \t\the is primarily involved in peace and reconciliation work - \t\tespecially with youth - in Australia, Northern Ireland, Israel \t\tand Palestine, Rwanda and Aboriginal Australia. Tissa is infamously known for his book, \t\t&quot;Mary and Human Liberation&quot; which led to his excommunication in \t\t1997. He has also been active as a founder and director of Centre \t\tfor Society and Religion in Colombo.
